Ah, yes, Lee Iacocca, father or was that step father of the Chrysler K car. I know people who used to buy American until their first K car, now they buy Toyota, and so do their children and I expect so will their children's children.
My next door neighbor is still driving a K car. I can't believe how long the darned thing has lasted. OTOH, she really is a little old lady who only drives on Sundays, and only if the weather is nice. The car probably has less than 50000k on it at the moment. What has really got to be worrying the Big Three is the full sized trucks with Japanese nameplates. I don't know about the Toyotas, but my Nissan is California designed, and USA built.
