Hello Sunny A tripod isn't silly! Very often it's a better investment than an expensive lens and will provide you with sharp images for much less money, since you can get rid of unsharpness caused by movement/motion and/or allow you to use the optimal aperture for the job. If you don't want to spend a lot of money (I guess my Manfrotto (190B) was appr. 150 USD without the head) - you can get a used one at ebay or elsewhere. I love Manfrotto for several reasons:
1) Very good quality for a reasonable price (good value for money) 2) Excellent customer service and availability of spare parts. 3) A huge program of accessories and add-ons. 4) World wide availability 5) A Manfrotto tripod is very likely to become a tool that you will use for the rest of you life. I have a - I guess - five or six tripods. The only ones I use are the ones from Manfrotto. In many ways Manfrotto is like Pentax: Excellent quality, but still affordable/not excessively expensive. These are good examples in your price range: http://tinyurl.com/bhj3p http://tinyurl.com/b4qs6 http://tinyurl.com/8juzw Regards Jens Bladt http://www.jensbladt.dk -----Oprindelig meddelelse----- Fra: Sunny Chung [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sendt: 18. januar 2006 06:31 Til: [email protected] Emne: Tripod Dilemma I know its hard to believe with all the night shots I have in my gallery, but I still do not own a tripod. Now that I'm looking for one, I'm extremely stumped. Should I buy a generic $12 tripod, or invest in a name brand like bogen/manfrotto. I don't want to spend over $100 on a silly tripod, but there are so many choices, head models, leg models, etc... etc... some direction would be greatly apprechiated :-) ------------------------------------------------ visit my gallery: http://dapjang.deviantart.com/gallery/
