Igor, Fred, I;m going to add my 2c here.:-)
I don't think its a one horse problem as far as any quality controll of Dslr's.
Since the D2H was introduced, a large number of owners had the same failures(as
did i) and
i know
the tech people at Nikon Canada, were going out of their way to insist no
problem existed
and it was
isolated incidents.
So if theses were isolated, how come Nikon, all of a sudden, realize there is a
problem, and
will fix this
problem for free, if you camera is out of warrenty.eh.<g>
I know Pentax has some flash issues, and so does Nikon, although each new
generation seems
to get
better and better.Of all the bashing i do of my D2H, it takes very nice flash
pictures.
Pentax is new to the game, and maybe it shows in some of the products. These
companies
produce
and push out a large number of units. I'd assume anyone would factor in a bad
part once in
a while.
For the record,i'm like Fred. I own a D, talked my sister into getting one, and
i bought
one for my
daughter.
I'm the only one of the 3 that has the occasional black screen when using the
pop up
flash. But i use it
so infrequently, i dont care. I may ask to see if it can be looked at if i
determine the
camera fall last
summer has done some alignment damage in focusing and i send it for service for
that..
I think the product is good enough to compete, besides i love muscling in
between Canon
shooters just
to see their reaction, Pentax still exist's.<vbg>
