I've never used a screw-mount adapter. If you have multiple
screw-mount lenses do you buy an adapter for each one, or do most
people use a single adapter and keep switching them between
screw-mount lenses?
Assuming the screw-mount adapter stays on the lens, and you have an
adapter for each lens that needs one, I don't see where the big "pain
in the butt" factor comes into play. Can anyone explain this a bit
better for me?

I tend to leave the adaptor on the camera much of the time, although it
does stay on the 50/1.4 Super-Tak when I want to pull it off the camera.
And I shoot in Av with the M42 lenses. Which severely cuts down on the
annoyance factor, dropping it much below K/M lenses.
