The advertising biz is probably about ninety percent mac on the creative side. In my experience, commercial photographers have traditionally been in the same place. It doesn't really matter much any more, but the usage pattern established over the years has affected today's mix. I would guess the big buck commercial photographers are now about seventy percent Mac based.

Much as I normally dislike Rockwell, I am in full agreement with him on this. I know a lot of high-end professional photographers, and nearly every one of them uses Mac. I'm a strong advocate of Mac for imaging use, and even more so for digital video work.

I'd agree for DV, but I've met a number of PC Pro Photoshop users. If the Mac has a majority of that market, it's a small one. Long-time pro's are more likely to be a part of it because 10 years ago the Mac was the clear winner, but today it's mostly a toss-up.
