Which Pentax-A zoom did you get? Need the focal length to help identify 
it. They no longer make an f/3.5 - 4.5 zoom, so we need more information.

What do you mean, "...it has some margin." I don't know what that means.

So, right now, there's no way to tell if it is IMpossible to repair or not.
What can't you get it to do?
