I used to tag along with my Dad to work in the '60's and '70's. I remember the IBM 360 and 370's vividly. Along with the smell of the air, the spinning of the tape drives, whirring disk platters, the lovely sound of the printer hoods opening and closing, the multitude of blinking lights and register readouts, the selectric ball at the control console. It was my dream to have one in my bedroom (it would never have fit).

My college computer courses were on a 370 with RPG, COBOL, and 80-column cards.

I'd have bought it from you. :)

BTW, did I ever mention the IBM 370 mainframe I was once offered, "We just want to get the damned thing out of here"? I turned it down not realizing there was several hundred dollars worth of gold contacts in the thing.
