Hello Charles, I have to partially agree with you. The size of the image in the old MX, ME Super, LX and such are truly wonderful. Buy my experience with using slower lenses with them rather sucks. They are too grainy and darken too quickly compared to the D - When I put a 3.5 or slower lens on my MX, it becomes very annoying - just darker and course looking. At 2.8 and faster it is very nice. The D is usable without being so annoying to at least 5.6.
