Yes, the "Northumbria Police spokesman" can stick it in his ear. Five fatalities in the previous 25 years, most of whom were people who were running against medical advice. One was completely unexpected and probably died because he collapsed in the most inaccessible part of the course, in the middle of the runners. Nobody could get to him. We will have to see what comes of the PM's this year.
