Yes, we've seen it. This looks like a *serious* pro-level flash, which
bodes well for other future product releases. (Though I probably won't
have to wait long for the negativity brigade to explain why this product
is a sign of Pentax's imminent demise.)
Well, of course. Some psychopath will soon tell you it's not compatible
with the Asahiflex 1, and therefore a betrayal, and a famous Wall Street
analyst will tell you that sales of the new gun were absolutely zero in
Qtr 3 2002, (SE Asia and Pacific rim; other figures pending) and therefore
the all-important wannabe-prosumer, second digi-SLR-body-buyer market has
given it a thumbs-down. As a result, the whole Japanese camera market
will implode no later than 15:00 hours on 3 December 2006, with disastrous
effects on plastic futures around the globe, hurricanes notwithstanding.
Let's just hope the price is within the grasp of ordinary mortals who
realise that if we buy the occasional Pentax product, the company will
stay in business.
