WILLIAM ROBB WRITES:

The only things I would nitpick are:

Is: "IS NOT anywhere even remotely
as automated"

not still automated?

And if it is even slightly automated, is it, by definition, automated? It is
certainly not manual, and it kinda has to be one or the other.

You are by defintion a very SLOW LEARNER-How many times do I have
to tell you that GB mode (green button) nowhere near as automated as K/M AE
mode? And by your
own post yesterday you proclaimed that PROGRAMMED AE
which is even more automated that K/M AE is very important to users
but at the same time say K/M AE which is much closer to program
AE than GB is isnt better than green button?

if K/M AE is automating compensation for ALL VARIABLES- like f-stop setting,
subject reflectance, incident lighting, ISO, ETC.
and doing it ALL tHEY TIME, AND WITHOUT any help from the
user ( not asking you to push ANY buttons ever in the mode)

and GREEN BUTTON NEEDS YOU TO MANUALLY PUSH A BUTTON FIRST - then only one
sets a shutter speed for you
once and then continoually requires you to keep MANUALLY keep pushing
pushing pushing pushing the button
button button button again and again and again and again

THEN GUESS WHAT? Its NOT kinda one or the other!
Are you trying to say that since its not pure
manual ( the shutter speed setting doesn't
have to be selected when you push button)
that makes it "AUTOMATIC" and ALL AUTOMATICS
are identical? As you can see, that's not the case..

the green button mode is not EVEN REMOTELY
as automated, is this clear enoght for you?
I can believe you are actually so stuck on this and
see how green button isnt even close to
the function of K/M AE.

CANT YOU SEE THAT
K/M AE is WAY WAY WAY MORE AUTOMATED
no matter whether you call GB "AUTOMATIC" or not?
We use and compare the user friendliness of the FUNCTIONS
not the names of the functions. This isnt brain surgery,
but based on your replies and questions is seems like
you don't have a clue whats going on here....
