I haven't been involved with this thread since Shel mentioned that a
decent digi-p&s would be good for me (which is where all this started,
quite innocently on Shel's part).

Hey, listen, an Optio-like thingie ain't anywhere near the top of my
wish-list.  I mean, I've played with 'em, and they're lots of fun, and
take good piccies, but really, if I had enough money for one of them,
I'd rather buy a used lens or some film or a bike part (I want
on-the-bar Campy shifters to replace my current bar-ends) - I could go
on, but really, I've got many other priorities should I unexpectedly
come into money.

It's been fun to read these posts, which I know are with the best of
intentions, but I'm really not in the market right now.  I think the
first digi I buy will be a DSLR.  I've got a pocketable Leica CL that
more than serves my mini-stealth-camera needs.
