That's a lovely shot, Shel.
I did the correction I mentioned earlier and put this composite
together to illustrate it.
Photoshop Tip of the Day - Removing purple fringe

In Photoshop:
- Make a color selection of the offending areas.
- Create an HSV adjustment layer, which will automatically generate a
mask for that selection.
- Choose magenta/purple to match the selection.
- Tune the saturation/hue to blend it into the surroundings.

(Except I cheated for sake of going quickly and just did a quick
selection and feathered the edges... ;-)
It's not perfect yet, but with a little more work would eliminate it
entirely.
