On the other hand, "green-button metering"(also known as stop-down metering) may be more accurate than open-aperture metering because it takes the meter reading with the lens at the same aperture as will be used to actually take the picture. In addition, if you're shooting at or near wide open or in
good light, the meter sensitivity issue is not likely to be a problem.

My observation is that the AF series lenses (DA, FA, F, FA-J, D-FA) on my DS tend to produce more consistent exposures than either A or K/ M lenses with both my DS bodies. That said, I've learned how to correct the exposure readings to my satisfaction.

All K/M lenses hit the bottom point in the metering system at about 2 seconds. Whether that's a functional limitation of the lower light getting to the metering system or simply how Pentax wrote the algorithm in the camera's firmware, I don't know. A and AF series lenses can meter out to 30 seconds with the DS.

Have a nice day. I'm going to go take some more pictures of my new
daughter....

I'm working on prints myself. :-)

My truism of the week is:
"Most cameras' annoyances and foibles become greatly reduced in significance when you learn a particular camera/lens/sensor's dynamic characteristics well enough."
