I was extremely fortunate to stumble onto one of these critters in EX+++ condition (a wee bit of barrel scuffing was the only defect) at a fantastic price. I grabbed it immediately, since I knew it was already then (maybe that was a year-and-a-half ago) getting scarce, and getting pricey. My opinion is that the price is going to keep going up, due to demand, and in another year "$1350 to $1450" will be considered an absolute steal for any FA* 80-200/2.8 in anything close to "as new" condition. So, my personal opinion is, if do you want one (and such a desire is entirely understandable), grab it !!! Fred
