Here's a dirty little secret about your typical "white" LED. As they age, they become more and more blue in color. The more power you run through them, the quicker this happens.
Also, many (if not all) white LEDs emit some UV light, which could possibly be a problem for some photographic uses.
I just thought the person who started this thread might want to know this before they ordered a truckload of white LEDs and tried to get maximum power from them, to make them useful for photography. I would definitely run some tests on some sample LEDs if I were you.
