I believe you talking to me, Kostas.
Moving the slider in the back of the AF280T does not have any effect, when
working in TTL Mode. The camera sensor will determine flash duration
according to the camera settings.

Cheating the flash means using it in NON TTL MODE, that is using the
built-in automtics in the flash unit. (The AF500FTZ is - AFAIR not equiped
with such automatics).

In TTL mode only two things work AFAIK: A flash compensation utility in the
flash unit or in the camera body. In any other case the flash duration will
be adjusted to accomodate "the total exposure" - meaning NO consideration of
the ambient light involved and NO compensation possible.

Of course there's one more option, which is hardly useful:
Adjusting the shutterspeed (more time) to allow the ambient light to "play
it's part" so to speak, in the final picture. This technique is known as
Slow Flash. As I said - hardly useble for daylight shooting.

Now a question for you and Bruce:
It seems that the AF360FGZ has a flash compensation utility (fill flash
option) which will allow the flash to give LESS light than it normally
would. Is this true??? If yes - will it work without usin the P-TTL mode?

I still would prefer a body with a +/- option for the flash only - like the
PZ-1p had.

What in TTL mode? Using the slider at the back? I doubt it. Can you
elaborate?
