If the interface for the card is screwed up there could be side effects
in the rest of the system. I've seen stranger things. I would expect
that it would be possible for a memory subsystem to fail only
partially. Remember the *ist-Ds is effectively a special purpose
computer with a camera body wrapped around it. If you have a second
card I'd suggest you try that before deciding the camera was at fault.
