Channel Mixer is NOT the right tool. It is just one of many tools and techniques used to make B&W conversions. One technique that's highly recommended is the Double Hue Saturation technique, and Juan has posted a nice tutorial here as well. But again, these are just a few of the many possibilities.
What's paramount, IMO, is understanding B&W. I've seen a lot of tutorials on B&W conversions, and the best results often come from those who are familiar with B&W work, having used their own darkrooms or worked a fair amount with film. http://home.earthlink.net/~scbelinkoff/color2bw.html http://tinyurl.com/6x8xd Shel > [Original Message] > From: Tim Øsleby > I'm planning to learn some serious B&W conversion.
