I don't disagree with you, particularly for Epson's pigment ink line.

However, I did purchase an HP 7960 as it is the least expensive printer (cost me $170) to get decent quality B&W proofs done with. Nowhere near the quality of the Epson 1270 + MIS UT2 ink + QuadToneRIP setup, but fast and easy. And I can print color up to 8.5x11 out of it that looks good too.

I want an Epson 2200 or 4000 class printer for larger format color work. :-)
