Bear in mind that this pic seems to have been taken in the evening - note the lighted lamp post. I like the idea that the clock tower is in deep shadow, although, on my monitor, it and the surrounding buildings look a little dark. If there were any adjustment to the shadows it would be very minimal. Pretty nice, Boris - a nice travel pic.
The shot was taken at 13:20 according to EXIF info :-)... I think that perhaps the light from the sky made the lamp look like this. Or for some totally unknown British reason (Cotty? ;-) ) the lamp was simply lit.
I actually wanted it to be like this - the shadows to be just barely not black. I may play with this more and see if I can produce other interpretations.
