I've an original Tiltall as well.  The QR plate, if it's the one i think it
is, should work on the original Tiltall.  However, it's been a while since
i asked about it.  Might be best just to send an email to the company and
ask straightaway.

BTW, since obtaining my Tilt, I discovered that there are at least two
versions of the original produced by the Marchioni Brothers, and their
parts may not be 100% interchangeable.  My version is like Igor's, using
the Philips head screws to hold the leg assemblies to the collar.  There's
a second version that uses hex bolts for that purpose.  My head assembly
wouldn't fit into the collar of the second version.

Great tripod, BTW -  I've a pic somewhere of Elliott Erwit using one with
what appears to be a 4x5 view or studio camera mounted on it ;-))
