This weekend I went to an interesting exhibit of photography and other art forms, called "Ashes and Snow," at Pier 54 in New York City.

It was an interesting experience. The photographs are stunning and emotionally moving. The "nomadic museum" in which is is housed, and which travels with it, is also quite interesting.

I loved the photography, the structure, and even the "art installations." Unfortunately, the film that was showing, covering the same subjects and scenes as the photography, was overdone and overly pretentious. The "novel in letters" that was read during the film was incomprehensible and self indulgant.

Still, the exhibit is well worth a visit for the photographs alone. Information on the exhibit and many of the photographs can be found at:
