H, Boris sent me a color JPEG which I fiddled with a bit. Were it my pic and had I wanted to invest a little more time, there are a few more adjustments I'd make, such as bringing down the bright area behind the guy's head and perhaps getting it to match the rest of the door. I had a problem with the fellow's hat - there was pretty much no detail in it to work with, and it was a balancing act to eek out as much detail as I could and add a little tone to the areas that were completely fried. I might have also worked on deepest shadows of the fellow's eyes. Anyway, here's an adjustment from the original JPEG.
http://home.earthlink.net/~my-pics/boris.html and the original pic that Boris posted: http://webaperture.com/gallery/photos/49886 I'd have liked to have had the RAW file with which to work. Maybe there was more detail in the hat and some other areas in the photo that were pretty much fried in the JPEG. Shel
