So the answer is: "It's for purely cosmetic reasons", is it?

Hmph. My hotshoe finder (FA-1W) has a wider front profile, but I
thought that was simply to accomodate the hotshoe. It also "sticks
out" about 1mm from the body where the little aperture-ring-number
reader is, as compared to the FA-2 (which is what my "thin model"
finder without the hotshoe is labelled as). For 1mm difference, I'd
prefer the aperture info in the viewfinder, thank you. <vbg>

I'm too lazy to go look: does anyone know if a shoe-less prism is
available with the aperture info in the viewfinder?

Hey, I just thought of something. My older "shoeless" LX will
henceforth be known as Joe, since it's shoe-less, just like Shoe-less
Joe Jackson of Black Sox fame (or rather infamy). <vbg>

Now I have to think of a name for the other LX, along with my MX...

cheers,
frank
