I'm in the minority here (again) but I own the Sigma and I love it. I haven't tested it rigorously against the Pentax or anything. I just like the fact that it can focus on objects that are much closer than the Pentax can, which allows some interesting compositions, and it's slightly faster. It's a lot of fun. I bought one for my husband in Canon mount, and I ended up buying myself one three weeks later. It is a huge beast compared to the Pentax, but the price and the close-focusing ability made it worth it for me. Amita
