Megapixels are digital photography's equivalent to horsepower and
torque in cars and trucks, and watts for stereo amplifiers.

Taken as a raw number, it doesn't tell you a hell of a lot about how a
camera, car or stereo performs, absent other information WRT the item
in question.  But, since "bigger is better", more MPs, horsepower,
watts must be good, right?
