Hi Peter, In Rome this is the period of a huge festival of photography, with plenty of exhibitions: http://www.fotografiafestival.it/ I'll probably be there on the 22 afternoon and evening, but I'm not completely sure. Feel free to contact me off list. About the possible *unusual* attractions I should ask our Roman (former?) PDMLers Flavio and Michele... I guess some churches are definitely worth the effort (not only San Pietro, but also San Giovanni in Laterano, Santa Maria in Trastevere, Santa Maria Maggiore). The new Auditorium is definitely interesting, and so are the Musei Capitolini. Almost all the streets in the area between Piazza del Popolo and Piazza Venezia (right and left of Via del Corso) are worth a look, especially Via Margutta. Don't miss Villa Borghese and its museum, with the famous marble statue of Paolina Borghese made by Antonio Canova. The pizzeria Da Baffetto, not far from Piazza Navona, is a well known (and not extremely expensive - closed on Sundays) dinner place. Ciao, Gianfranco _ __________________________________ Yahoo!
