Three things about digital photography are superior to film:
1) Fast results and at home - no camera shop visit needed.
2) Fast and costless change of ISO value.
3) Better DOF at the same AOV.

Three things about film are superior to digital photography:
1) Optional better resolution (so far)
2) Longer life/presence of the pictures.
3) Proven, lasting and widely spread technology = cost efficient (film has
been arround for a century).

So, there's realy no need to be a luddite. There's no need to choose either
one or the other.
Some printing technologies use elements from both "worlds". Both chemical
and electronic photography exists side by side.
