There is an "On/Off" switch provided on communications devices. This permits privacy and silence when desired, as well as communications when desired. I only turn mine on when I want to be available for contact.


I think the term Luddite is quite applicable:

Luddite
n 1: any opponent of technological progress
2: one of the 19th century English workmen who destroyed labor-saving machinery that they thought would cause unemployment
