The FA* 24 mm. 2.0 has a "sandwich" aspherical element (aspheric plastic surface on a glass lens), but the FA 35 2.0 has a molded all glass aspherical element.

Just a quick look at the Japanese site and it says
ハイブリッド非球面レンズ,
it translates into "hybrid aspherics". The other one from FA31 says
ガラスモールド非球面レンズ
which translated into "glass molding aspherics"...

Hi Alan:
A Pentax rep told me a few years ago about the glass molded aspherical element in the FA 35 mm. 2.0, in fact he said it was the sixth and last element of that lens. But, of course, he could be wrong.
I have checked a Pentax Germany pdf file about that particular lens, and it says it's got an aspherical element, but it doesn't specify whether it is hybrid or not.
