I don't know about that, I have never seen any picture indicates MZ-S has the metal frame like D/DS. I think D is the first Pentax body with such design. There is no practical difference whether to use metal or plastic mount if it was fastened onto a plastic structure. MZ-S carries this design (so to all other MZ/ZX). No doubt the mount will not be able to withstand the same stress as metal structure do, just that we don't know how much difference. But of course, being unable to handle the same amount of stress on the camera mount doesn't make the body itself less durable. Just that the mount itself will be a weak link.
I can attest, from first-hand experience, that a sufficiently hard impact will yank the lens mount clean out of a MZ-S body.
Which may be a better incident than, as at least one person can attest, having to have your lens extensively rebuild because it _didn't_ pull out. A weak link can be a good thing.
