I no longer own "A" series lenses but A's were designed to go after the
resolution. Then, Pentax went back to their tradition of more subtlety in
F/FA series.
But my remarks on the Nikkor (or Pentax lenses for that matter) were of
course generalized. I have only two Nikkor lenses (one of them is the
60mm/Micro which is superb) and cannot tell if the Nikkors are "generally"
too sharp etc. It just seems to be the accepted opinion though, based on
what I read. But then, I should not have generalized that Pentax lenses
might render a bit "softer" etc. "Soft" is a no-no word. It is a matter of
rendition which you can only tell on the finished photos, but it is fairly
apparent to me (sometimes ;-).
The "plasticity" is hard to describe.

Cheers,

Ken
