I'm afraid you're right: W-16959 pixels x H-11392 pixels,
resolution HxV 400 dpi x 400 dpi, Bit depth 1.
Creation Software: Oi/GFS, writer v 00.06.02.
I guess this would indicate an uncompressed file
size > 200mb. What size windows system would handle
a file like this?

I just set up a little experiment on my rig.
I took a 16 bit tiff file and increased it's size to about what you are working with.
It came up at 1.5gb.
At the moment, my machine is gagging on a healing brush command......
I'm running Win XP Pro on an Athlon 3200+ (2.0 GHz) 64 bit processor, 3 gigs of RAM and 2 SATA drives for swap.
It will run it, but it is kinda slow.
