I used to have one a few years ago. I never did any "serious" shooting with it but I enjoyed using it a lot and it's probably the lens that really got me into ultra-wide-angle lenses. In terms of construction, it's definitely a product of the Bad Old Days of Sigma: very lightweight and flimsy feeling. The relatively small max aperture never presented a problem with focusing. I usually zone focused, anyway. I never had problems getting sharp 8 x 12 prints and I expect larger sizes would be no problem with most of them. Actually, some of my most-sold photographs were taken with this lens. The stuff I shot for this "Life in the Finger Lakes" article was also later bought by "Adirondack Sports & Fitness" magazine: http://www.robertstech.com/muddy_s.htm I think all but one was shot with the Sigma 18-35. -- Mark Roberts Photography and writing www.robertstech.com
