Jostein, I find this interesting on many levels, and certainly not abusive. There is a sense of their having had a hard life, written in their faces and their body language. I assume that they are resting on the way home from somewhere: while they are together, I perceive a disconnection between them.
The two figures disappearing from frame add to the alienation which is apparent: possibly, given the assumed location this was taken in (Jerusalem?), they are Jews and the political situation in the country is reflected in the juxtaposition. Alternatively, since they appear younger and fitter, it is perhaps a generational thing?

Since I took a very similar shot of (rather more) older people resting in the Forbidden City, I certainly do not think it is trespassing on their integrity. You are not portraying them in a derogatory way by any means.

Cropping is very much intentional, but I'm not going to tell you why. I'd much rather hear your opinions.

Also, I'm very interested to hear if you think of this shot as abusive or trespassing on the people's integrity in any way. Personally I get a sting of bad conscience even from doing stealth shots of Cotty the Shepherd, so I definately need help with this one...:-)

Cheers,
Jostein
