For me, I don't see any value from the closer (and thus larger) figure on the left. Tighter framing (the two people on the bench, plus the empty chair, and perhaps some amount of blank wall) makes a better shot. Do you have any reason to feel that your subjects would be displeased by this presentation? I wouldn't have thought so - it seems sympathetic. [There again, I am certainly no expert on this sort of photography]
