Markus,
Considering the intended use of your work, my guess is
that your client would prefer images with a bit of
punch. 
Reala, for example, is a great high res, fine grain,
medium to low contrast film suitable for use where
"real world" colors are primary. It's especially
suitable for scanning.
If available, my choice would be Kodak's recently
introduced "professional" print film, Ultra Color.
I've tried a few rolls and can agree with their claim
that it is the most highly saturated print film on the
market. Just have to watch the very light colors so as
to not get blocked highlights. It has very fine grain
which should allow the printing of 'posters' if
needed.
If you want to take your 35mm lens, it can't take up
much space.
