Back in the screwmount days these two were said to be the exact same
lens, with f/2 version only baffled a bit to the f/2 aperture over the
f/1.8 to be "cheaper".
Similar to how Pentax sold SP500 and SP1000 with SP500's supposed max
speed of 1/500 but unmarked shutter setting of 1/1000 (though some
said not factory tested, it worked for most people IIRC).
Ah, these were the golden days before camera manufacturers learned to
suck out quality to make lenses cheaper...
