I thought mine would be halved. I figured I'd always use a film body as a
second body to carry around so I wouldn't have to switch lenses too often.

No. I ended up only using film for specific uses, like astrophotography.

I've bought a couple of Tamron's Di lenses, which are coated specifically
for digial bodies but can be used on film bodies as well. I won't buy any
lenses that are made for a smaller sensor because that limits their
usefulness to me.
