Did you download the big standalone installer? I applied the smaller incremental patch - this may be one reason why I had problems. I'm getting broadband soon so I may be able to use the standalone updaters in the future.


Panther was the final catalyst for me to get a PowerMac last year. To be more specific, it was really Expos�.

I'm sure that whatever you do with your daily computer uses, you must tweak Panther in ways I don't, so you've found some glitch I may never see.

The only tweak I'm running is a copy of Desktop Manager which I'm finding absolutely indispensable in my "serious work" account. Yes, even with multiple monitors, virtual desktops can be very useful!
