Never having used a flash, forgive my ignorance. What makes the Sigma a
better choice than the Pentax? Almost flawless? Are there things about
flash that are problematical? Why is the istD "pretty much useless at TTL
flash?"
I'd be curious to know too.
I don't use flash very often, but occasionally it's essential. I use a non-dedicated Sunpak 383 and Lumiquest Mini Soft Box or Ultra Soft II bounce diffuser. Exposures are close to perfect using the flash' on-board auto metering. I have been thinking of a Pentax AF360 or Sigma 500DG Super flash to have access to the second curtain sync...
