Thanks for the encouragement, Bruce.  According to my radiation oncologist 
this will hopefully be a temporary procedure while the rectal ulcer heals.

Glad that you are home.  Hope all is well.  My wife had an ileostomy
done about 20 years ago.  I can say that she has been far happier
since.  Hope that your life picks up post op.
