How about a "standard" zoom lens; 28-70mm or 28-80mm from Tokina, Tamron,
Sigma, Nikon, Canon.
Annother "comodity" could be a roll of film (Fuji Superia 200) or a memory
SD memory card.

I guess you are familiar with this German search engine?:

Emne: Price Comparison / Press Project

Dear Friends

as you may know Switzerland is an rich but also expensive country. Thats
the reason why i'm working on different price comparison stories for my
newspaper. The next topic will be photo equipment.

For example: There's a sigma lens 70-200 that's priced with 1099 Euro in
Germany and 1995 sFr in Switzerland. 1099 Euro are 1700 Swiss Francs at
the Moment. So The same lens is 17% more expensive for the Swiss than
for the German.
(This Situation is especially annoying in the city of basel, thats right
on the border to Germany)

I wonder what would be a good - representative - lens to mare a
comparison? Do you have any suggestions?
Do you have official price lists of you contries in a digital form and
could you send them to me?
If you have interresting inside information about productions costs,
retail margins or the price politics, i'm listening.
