Just thought I would briefly introduce myself before I start posting erratically. I've been lurking for about a week or so and thoroughly enjoying the discussion, the obviously wonderful comraderie, the photographs, and quite a few of your personal sites.
I've been playing with photography and tinkering with cameras for several years. I currently shoot (mostly Tri-X) with the K1000 my father bought in Heidelberg in 1984. I "acquired" the camera right around the time I went off to college in '93 and never looked back. Recently, I've been buying more and more photo gear, mostly old, always cheap, and including a Mamiya TLR, a Crown Graphic, and lenses for the K.
One of the first posts I read was from William Robb, bragging about his latest score. This, of course, inflamed the itch. I've always wanted an MX and I'll need another body when I get around to sending the K for a CLA. So I bought one. Sure, it's not black, and it doesn't have the 1.4, but the price was right: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3876614975 And yes, that's my wife's eBay account. Thank you, Mr. Robb.
