Took the *ist DS and 77mm Ltd to my friends' gig last night. What a pleasure it is to use. None of this focus and recompose biz - I'm getting used to thumbing though the focus zones. Net result: many more in focus shots and not everything focussed centre of frame.
And auto-ISO is a great luxury. The grain isn't too unpleasant for the light conditions. Had to do the LAB mode-channel A and B blur to get rid of the chroma noise on a couple of shots, but that's ok. I'll write an action for it next time. The JPG reductions don't really show the results, but they aren't bad in full res.
I had a few frames of TMAX3200 left on another camera, and burned them off. But, seriously, it just isn't as much fun.

Major lesson of the night - a 1G card is just not enough. Could have shot twice as much. I'll also come out and say it - I am a happy chimper.
