Some time back I bought a used Vivitar AF 6000 ring flash from a list member. It is Vivitar's current model. Trying it on the PZ-1p, it caused the camera to lock up. I figured I was just out of luck for my purchase price and stopped using it.
After others used it successfully on the D, I got bold and tried it. The flash works fine on the D (and also produces good exposures even though it is not P-TTL). I was still worried, though, so I asked Vivitar what the trigger voltage was. The answer I got back was "less than six volts." According to the web site that Jens just told us about, that should be fine for any contemporary camera.
Does anyone know why this flash would work fine on the D but not on the PZ-1p? Or does anyone know what voltage the 1p requires?
Thanks,
Joe
