Thanks for the suggestion. I have had nothing but problems with AWB, even on supposedly superb cameras like D2H's matrix colour meter. It drove me nuts in postpro, because of tiny variations in otherwise almost identical frames (sometimes just 1% different framing). Now I shoot with presets or kelvin values (if the camera supports it). I though it was the autocontrast causing the problem with Bush, but same problem happened with Putin later in the evening, where I had autocontrast turned off - perhaps the chameleons theory is right ;-)
