When we moved into our house 4 1/2 years ago, we had four cats. Two were long term family members. The other two were kittens 3-4 months old. Our cats have always been outdoor cats, finding a sleeping place outside or in the garage.
Well up in the mountains there's very little place for cats to do their business when there's snow on the ground. There was however, an 8 inch strip around the perimeter of the house where the radiated heat pretty much kept the snow off, leaving a strip of dirt. You know what happened next.
Thankfully we're down to 1 cat. The original first one. The other three I must conclude have reentered the food chain. Not that it's what I wanted, but we did have an unexpexcted, unpleasant problem.

I can understand why mankind hasn't given up war. During a war you get to drive tanks through the sides of buildings and shoot foreigners - two things that are usually frowned on during peacetime.
