Michael, you don't just double click. First you click on the icon to
mark the line, then you click somewhere on the right side of the marked
line. Using Bob W's instructions I discovered that it works on my XP Pro
system also on multiple files selected, but as already said the
information you put in there using XP doesn't show up in Irfanview nor
in Photoshop (Elements 3). So it looks indeed that Irfanview is the best
option.

Another question I have on this subject, does anybody know if you can
delete EXIF data in Photoshop, supposing you don't want to share your
camera settings with others? Resaving in Irfanview does provide this
option, but I cannot figure out in PS Elements 3 how to do this.

Subject: AW: AW: AW: Change File Attributes

I my english so bad?
I know a little bit about computers and I know when i cang change
something and when i can't. And as you wrote, when multiple files
selected, I can't change the values. Even not in the advanced mode.
That's a fact. Maybe you can. I can't. I cant make a double click on the
field, there's no option in the context menu. I just can't change ist.

But that was exactly the thing i wanted to do. Change something in more
than one file at the time.

If you are still having trouble with this then, as I explained yesterday
to John, and as I have explained before, you are looking at the wrong
view of that tab.

You have to switch to the 'Advanced >>' view (whatever it's called in
German). Then on that tab you find the properties such as 'Titel',
'Kommentar' etc. and click in their value field to make the edit box
appear.

I'm sorry to sound frustrated, but I really don't know how to explain it
more clearly without actually coming to Germany and doing it for you.

It is a bad piece of user interface design, but all the same, I figured
out how to do it within 1 minute of reading your original email.
